Eligibility Criteria for IISER Aptitude Test

IISER Aptitude Test holds eligibility criteria for the students applying to get into IISER. But the eligibility criteria vary according to the different modes of admission. As mentioned, there are three channels to apply for IAT, and here are the eligibility criteria for all of them.

KPVYFor students applying for IAT via KPVY, a student must have a KPVY fellowship commencing from Academic Session 2021-2022.

JEE Advanced- For students applying for IAT via JEE Advanced, they must have secured a rank prescribed by IISER in JEE Advanced 2021.

SCB- The minimum cut-off is decided by IISER for the candidates applying through SCB mode. The students must appear in IAT, for those applying through SCB.

Application Process for IISER Aptitude Test 2021

·         The form is released by IISER for all the eligible candidates to apply for IAT.

·         The application for the three categories i.e. For KVPY, JEE, and SCB is released differently.

·         Candidates have to submit their completed application form in their prescribed channel before the due date.

·         Candidates must ensure to fill in the details correctly and upload the required documents in the prescribed format.

·         Application form and Application Fees have to be submitted online.

Books and Mock Test for IAT 2021

There are a lot of mock tests available online to get an idea about the difficulty level of questions. But it is advised to prepare for examination from your Class11 and Class12 textbooks as the syllabus is from them only. For students appearing for JEE Advances and then preparing for IAT, it is advised to revise their course material only.

Note: Do not run after so many books at the last time. Be focused on quality questions and mock tests.

Once the application process is completed, IISER releases admit cards to appear for the examination. You can download the admit card by logging into your candidate’s profile and take a printout of the issue to admit card to be taken to the examination center.

Result of IISER Aptitude Test 2021

After the successful conduct of the examination, IISER takes a few weeks to declare the results. You can see the name of the shortlisted candidates in the list issued by IISER.

IISER Aptitude Test Counselling

Once the result is declared, the counseling process starts simultaneously. The Counselling Process of each channel helps separately by IISER. Candidates have to fill their choice and the institute in the counseling process.

The seats are allotted based on the choices filled by the candidates and on the merit list. After the successful conversion of the seat, the candidate has to appear for the admission procedure along with the original documents mentioned for the successful completion of admission.

All the documents are required in original form. Candidates are advised to take the original documents along with photocopies if needed. Following is the list of the documents needed to be carried at the time of counseling:

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is IAT Exam tough?

IAT Exam is not tough. It depends upon the efforts you are putting in while preparing for the exam. The syllabus for the IAT exam is the same as your Class11 and 12 textbooks. Therefore, it is not that tough. After all, it’s all in our head- to make it easy or hard.

2. How should I prepare for IAT?

You should plan and strategize the preparation based on your strengths and weaknesses. Preparing a timetable and covering topics, one at a time would make it easy to approach the IAT Exam.

3. Is IAT Exam Online?

Yes, IAT is conducted online only.

4. Is IISER tougher than NEET?

In our opinion, IISER is not a tough exam. As we said in the earlier question, it depends on our preparation and our courage to take challenges and bang on with victory.
