7 Effective tips For IIT JEE Preparation

How can I make IIT JEE preparation fun?

How I can enjoy studying for 7 to 9 hours?

Many times, when we get questions like these, the first thing we would like to ask is “Why does this thought come to your mind?”

Quite naturally you won’t have the answer to this question. That’s why you came here to search for it. Fret not. We will provide you with a satisfying answer.

Many students get this question of not having fun while studying and it’s quite obvious. Because how am I supposed to have fun while studying which requires a lot of concentration? Resonating? Right.

It is mainly because of the two reasons, either you don’t like the subject or you are studying to show off to others. In both cases, we would recommend you to PAUSE.

Did you apply for KVPY Exam 2021?

KVPY 2021 : Click here to Apply now

PAUSE and Ask yourself the question- “Why am I doing what I am doing? Is it totally worth it? Why do I want to do this?”

Once you figure out Why, how will happen automatically? Another reason that is quite interesting is the lack of clarity about the subject, thus making it boring to you.

Once you have found all the answers to the above-stated questions, you can jump to some of the ways to make your 7-9 hours study enjoyable:

Strategize & Execute

People fail because they don’t strategize the things of utmost importance. Please start strategizing your studies to reach where you want to see yourself. Once it is done, you have taken the first step towards your dream. Now, execution plays a key role in making strategy a success. Don’t wait for a perfect 9 AM or midnight to study. If you have those butterflies right after your strategies, sit and start studying now.

Take frequent breaks

Too much study and no play make Jack a dull boy. Take frequent small breaks to refresh your brain. For instance, take a small break of 10 minutes after 40 minutes of study or 30 minutes break after 2-3 hours of study. Do whatever you want to do in this small break. Eat, play, go out and run or read something else (Apart from your textbooks). This break will help the brain to assimilate the information you have gathered while studying.

Watch videos to understand better

When you are stuck on a concept or topic, switch to youtube to understand that concept better. You can watch the related videos. It helps for a better understanding of the concepts. Don’t start watching other videos one after the other.

Eat right

You’ve heard it a million times by now; You are what you eat. Eating the right can make you smart by giving your brain nutritional support. It helps you perform at the highest level in your studies.

Tasks like studying require a lot of concentration because you are concentrating on what you don’t want to. So, eat the right kind of food such as fruits, vegetables, soups, and dishes rich in fiber and nutrition. Your body needs nutrients like carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, fiber, water, etc. It is vital that you must consume the nutrients on a daily basis to help you for maintaining your body and health. This will not consume much of your oxygen required at the time of study and also keeps you healthy and light.

Fix three things

You might be a 16, 17, or 18 yr old teenager. At this time, various hormonal changes are going inside the body. In order to maintain the rhythm of biological functioning, it’s important to fix these three things.

  • Eating right
  • sleeping tight
  • Working-out

Fixing these three things will help you maintain concentration and mental clarity.

How to study for JEE Exam?

Seeing a lot of books online and suggested by your friends, tutor, or coaches can be a bit overwhelming. But don’t try to let this overwhelm hamper your preparation. Instead of thinking much about buying too many books do the following:

1. Don’t buy all the Books- Buying all the books can make you feel confused and leave your preparation in between. Buying all the above-stated books can be heavy on your pocket too. Instead, start with what you have. Be it NCERT or any other good book(any one of the books listed above). Start by paying close attention to the basic concepts and practicing a few of the questions from them.

2. NCERT is the best- You can’t deny the simplicity and power of NCERT. Though you may feel like NCERT can’t serve your purpose. But many questions come from NCERT textbooks. Practice and have an in-depth from NCERT first.

3. Mock Test- Mock Tests can reflect your preparation in a better way. Try to give one or two mocks every week.

4. Seek Help from Libraries- School libraries have all the books you need. Try to get any of the books from your library. But don’t move onto a different book before finishing the practice from the books you already have.

Many students face difficulties finding the right books for their preparation. Even if some have the clarity, they end up buying all of them. In both cases, they end up broke and confused.
Try to go by a minimalistic yet powerful approach to your preparation. Find what is useful and what is not, only then you will be able to reflect your best.
